Born in Warsaw Poland, Maciek Dobrowolski is a polish film music composer and music producer. His fascination with soundtracks started in early childhood and was a starting point both for his interest in classical and electronic music. Maciek`s music is a unique mixture of influences and individual creative output that often oscillates between minimalism, sophisticated sound design and clasically-influenced theme writing. The line between orchestral and electronic is often blurred, since both are treated on par during the production process.
Maciek has been awarded 2nd prize at the Young Talent Awards during the Film Music Festival in Kraków 2014 and has been nominated for Transatlantyk Film Music Competition Award numerous times. He has attended workshops with Garry Schyman, Jeff Rona, Jason Graves and many other prolific Hollywood composers.
With minimalistic means, Maciek Dobrowolski`s film scoring always aim at maximalistic effect – be it a loud, full orchestral passage, or silence.
Maciek Dobrowolski`s international career as a film music composer began with a strong note – Clockwise – a first feature film in the history of Qatar. The score got fantastic reviews and got a release from an international film music label. The composer has later worked for companies such as Platige Image, Stellar Fireworks, PanGenerator, Vivid Games or Storytel and wrote music for campaigns created for Huawei, Allegro or IKEA. Maciek`s music carrer goes beyond film scoring – he has also written music for The Legend of The Pearl – an multimedia show set up in the middle of the Lake in Chorzów Poland and a concept album Ephemera.
