TESTIMONIALS

I get sent numerous promotional albums and rarely review them (there doesn’t seem much point reviewing something which nobody can buy) but it’s clear I would have to make an exception for this one, such is its strength.  Dobrowolski – who is only 25 – has fashioned an exquisitely beautiful, thematic score which is worthy of being heard very widely and I hope a label will see fit to release it. “Clockwise is a beautifully realised score, filled with lovely themes and emotional underscore that highlights Dobrowolski as one of a group of up-and-coming composers who are learning their craft with limited resources but who are producing a finished product of great quality. It is astonishing to me that this score has not yet been picked up (at the time of writing of this review) by any record label, particularly when I see some of the material that is being composed for big films that is being released without any consideration as to whether it is actually listenable.” (4/5)

Alan Roger`s review at Maintitles.net

“Maciek wrote what can only be described as an exceptional score for Clockwise. The strength of the compositions are such that they stand alone as beautiful pieces of music, but the way they support and enhance the action on screen is superb. With this excellent debut score Maciek shows the potential to become a very significant score composer.”

Roland Heap – music supervisor and sound designer for Clockwise

Overall, Maciek’s debut score for a debut movie of the country it was produced in is a very interesting one and showcases a big upcoming talent. The marriage of the beautifully performing string orchestra, solo vocals and ethnic instruments (including percussion) makes up for a coherent work that featuring inspiration from both Arabic music and even some Far Eastern material (Rain/Atique Dies) that creates a world of its own.
